FAQ's
Bullet Question What is the capacity of my TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier?
Answer: Both the upper and lower storage containers have a maximum capacity of 9 litres each.

Bullet Question How much water can the TATA Swach bulb purify?
Answer: The Tata Swach bulb has a capacity to purify up to 3000 litres of drinking water. The Tata Swach bulb meets the LRV norms as per USEPA guidelines. The product has been tested at laboratories at a temperature of 25+/- 2 deg cel, in moderate humidity conditions.
The total purification capacity will also depend on the input water quality and usage conditions of the water purifier. One should ideally put normal drinking water such as municipal water or drinkable water from wells and borewells to enjoy the best performance of Tata Swach.

Bullet Question What is the flow rate through Tata Swach?
Answer: Tata Swach Nanotech Water Purifier purifies upto 3 to 4 litres of drinking water per hour. However, the rate could be lesser or higher depending on the quality of the input water.
In case the flow rate reduces during normal course of usage, it may be due to air trap. In this case, it is advised to remove bottom mesh.

Bullet Question What if the water does not flow out of TATA Swach bulb?
Answer: a) First of all, check the Tata Swach fuse. If the top red indicator touches or is near to the bottom red indicator, it is time to change to a new bulb.
b) Else, please follow the subsequent steps: Please note that your TATA Swach bulb is densely compacted with purification media comprising of activated silica coated with silver nanoparticles. While the dense compacting allows aids water purification, it may, over the time, result in the air getting trapped inside it and therefore reducing or at times even completely stopping the flow.
Water will therefore flow through the TATA Swach bulb as soon as the trapped air has been removed. Following are the methods of removing trapped air:
a) Remove the bottom mesh, as this would allow the trapped air to escape.
b) Drain out water from the lower container.
c) Fill the upper container completely with water, as this would create the highest possible pressure head to release the trapped air.
d) Gently tap the upper container. This would also allow trapped air to escape.
e) Wait for 25-30 mins.
f) Water should now start to come down in the lower container.
g) You can now fit back bottom mesh to the bulb. Ensure that the bottom mesh is clean and it is fitted loosely to the bulb. (If it is not cleaned and fitted tightly, both increase the possibility of entrapment of air).

Answer: TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier can make water free from harmful bacteria and viruses. However, it does not remove dissolved solids or brackishness/saltiness from water. In case you put brackish water into your TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier, the output water would be microbiologically safe, but there will be no change in taste.   Answer: The TATA Swach fuse is an additional safety feature to indicate the purifying power left in the TATA Swach bulb. In case the red indicator in the TATA Swach fuse has reached the lowermost point it is time to change to a new TATA Swach bulb, whether or not the water flow stops.

Bullet Question There are some visible particles inside the TATA Swach bulb floating in the water. Is it harmful for me?
Answer: The TATA Swach bulb is widely available across many outlets. Please visit the nearest TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier retailer or the shop from where you had purchased your TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier.
The TATA Swach bulb has 2 components and the technology is such that water flows from the outer compartment into the inner compartment. Purified water then comes out from the inner compartment and through the bottom mesh to the lower chamber. All purification of the water happens in the inner compartment which cannot be seen from outside. These visible particles (black or white or brown) in the output compartment or lower container may sometimes be visible if the unit is shaken or due to handling. It is however no cause of worry, as these particles are completely natural and are derived from paddy husk.

Bullet Question Is the tap safe and hygenic?
Answer: The tap will come in repeated contact with hands, bottles, glasses, etc. You should ensure that as a result of these contacts, the tap does not get contaminated with germs. In case the tap mouth gets dirty, clean and disinfect it with a diluted disinfectant such as bleach, hypochlorite (50 ppm available chlorine) solution, then discard the first 2-3 litres of purified water that flow out of the tap.

Bullet Question What if there is condensation in the bottom container in Tata Swach?
Answer: This is normal to happen in case there are temperature differences. However,it does not impact the quality of drinking water from your Tata Swach.
